M&A Integration Support

While a successful merger or acquisition can be a shortcut to dramatic increases in revenue and profitably, the challenges associated with achieving these benefits are well documented. Figures vary but it is generally accepted that no more than 50% of businesses ever achieve the objectives they set themselves.

This high failure rate is usually due to a combination of factors including:

  • Problems in strategic planning or the due diligence process
  • Delays in appointing a new management team or setting clear post M&A accountabilities
  • The marginalisation of business users and / or key customers
  • Lack of appreciation of the technical and operational complexities facing the new organisation
  • Shortage of staff with the appropriate skills

Most businesses face these issues with limited previous hands-on experience of mergers and acquisitions and (as is often the case) there is no substitute for past, sometimes painful, experience.

At JWPCreers LLP, as well as advising you before any deal is done, we can also provide the specialist expertise and experience you need to help your team make the deal a long-term success.  Those involved have previously worked in senior positions within businesses and had direct responsibility for the delivery of M&A benefits.  We can help you:

  • Review the key risks and activities in your integration plans
  • Identify key short-term actions such as setting integration roles & responsibilities and managing communications
  • Support internal staff who are either overstretched or lacking key skills.
