Accounting for 100 years - The Press, Thursday 30 October 2008

In November 2008, staff old and new attended a special centenary party for accountants and business advisors JWPCreers, following an appeal in The Press.

A total of 33 former employees were among a party of 80 including current staff, who attended celebrations at Foss Place – the practice’s York office – to mark the centenary.

The company, which also has an office in Park Street, Selby, dates its centenary from when
Mr. H L Creer became a partner in Pulleyn Creer, York in 1908.

Former partners Robert Pickles, Mick Allison, Trevor Smith and David Pavey were presented with gifts in recognition of their contribution to the current practice, created with the merger between JW Pickles in Selby and York-based Creers two years ago.

In a speech, senior partner John Latimer said eight couples at the two merged firms had married after meeting at work and six more couples had, at some stage, worked separately at either
JW Pickles & Co or Creers.
